BNP's 19-points Programme



Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman Formulated a 19 - Points Programme for the Socio - Economic Liberation of the Country.



  • Point 1

    To protect the country’s independence, total integrity and sovereignty.

  • Point 2

    The four basic principles of governance means that the universal belief in the national life of all-powerful beliefs and beliefs, democracy, nationalism, social and economic justice towards Almighty Allah.

  • Point 3

    In all ways, form ourselves as a self-dependent nation.

  • Point 4

    Ensure public participation in all aspects of administration, development and law and order.

  • Point 5

    Enhancing rural and national economy through agricultural development on the basis of highest priority.

  • Point 6

    Make the country self-sufficient in food and ensure that no one is hungry.

  • Point 7

    Increase cloth production in the country and ensure at least coarse cloth for everyone.

  • Point 8

    If any citizen is not homeless, then arrange as much as possible.

  • Point 9

    Free the country from the curse of illiteracy.

  • Point 10

    Provide a minimum medical treatment for all living people.

  • Point 11

    Establishment of status of women in society and mobilise the youth to consolidate the nation.

  • Point 12

    Encouraging the private sector in the economic development of the country.

  • Point 13

    To improve the conditions of the workers and to develop healthy workers-ownership relationships to increase production.

  • Point 14

    Encourage public service and the spirit of nation building and the development of their financial condition among the people.

  • Point 15

    To control the birth population.

  • Point 16

    To build friendships with all foreign countries and to tie up strong relations with Muslim countries.

  • Point 17

    The administration and development system will be decentralized and strengthen the local government.

  • Point 18

    Establish a corruption-free, just-based society system.

  • Point 19

    Fulfill all citizens’ rights irrespective of religion, clan and caste and strengthen national unity and solidarity.
